For WeChat users outside China

Your China number, in your pocket.

Leave the iPhone with your China SIM at home — or at your family's home. Take its WeChat calls, get its bank codes and use its apps from the iPhone you carry.

Why a second phone is still needed

WeChat, Alipay, banks and government apps are tied to your China number and to one device. Log in from a new phone or a foreign network and you get checks, freezes or a code sent to a SIM that's in a drawer.

WeChat calls ring on your iPhone

A WeChat voice or video call to the home phone shows up as a normal incoming call. Answer it and you're talking, in wideband audio.

SMS codes when you need them

Bank and app verification codes arrive on the home phone, and you read them right away — no roaming, no SIM swapping.

Type in Chinese

Reply in WeChat with your own keyboard, Chinese characters and emoji included.

No new-device checks

The account never moves. Same phone, same home network, same login as always.

How it works

  1. The phone with your China SIM stays at home, on Wi-Fi and a charger. It can be in your home abroad, or with family in China.
  2. A small gateway sits next to it. We set it up with you.
  3. You use the TracePort app on your main iPhone or iPad, over Wi-Fi or cellular, from any country.

The home phone stays a normal iPhone: no jailbreak, nothing installed on it. Normal phone calls to the China number ring through too.

Questions

Can I keep the phone with my family in China?

Yes, if the home there has a stable internet connection. Tell us where it will be before setup so we can test the connection with you.

Does WeChat know?

WeChat sees the same phone it always has, on the same network. Nothing is installed on it and nothing about the account changes.

What about WhatsApp and other apps?

They work the same way. WhatsApp calls ring through too.

How much does it cost?

Same as everywhere: done-for-you setup, then a monthly or yearly service.
